extraordinary diamond earings!
Do not vacillate to buy these earings! The ones I received were G color VVS2 clarity. Everyone notices these. I had my daughter wear these for a amalgamation (age 10) but looked too large for her ears. For me, they are just right for everyday wear. Very sparkly. I am so gleeful with these!

Subtle, but ...
I was happy with the earrings ... those I received were slightly over 1cttw, F & H color, and VS2. Nice, but not an excellent peer for a pair.
So, I did have some questions about the order & what I received. I contacted CS, only to be referred to the jewelry department, and I waited ... and waited ... for a return. Then, I received some snarly comments that did not even address my questions & concerns.
This was not my first purchase from Amazon jewels, but it was my last. I am back to working with local B&M jewelers with live, thoughtful human beings. And price-percipient, I'm probably doing better ... it was just the convenience & selection online that was so arousing. I'm simply tired of not getting answers to legitimate questions ... and I don't need to put up with being treated like crap when I'm making 4-drift of purchases.
Adios, Amazon jewelry department!

Terrible for the price!!!
I bought these jewels when they were an extra 75% off ($550) and I can say these are amazing. The pair I received were VVS2/VS1 and G/H color and had a appraised value of almost $6000.
Thanks Amazon.

What are the advantages of buying a certified diamond and what is the best certification to get?
Aug 13, 2009 by mroutdoors | Posted in Weddings
I’ve been researching diamonds for appointment rings, and I keep seeing different certifications. What certifications should I be looking for, and what are the advantages of buying a certified diamond?
A certified diamond is theorized to match the qualities on it's papers. The only really good certifications in the US are EGL (European) and GIA (American). A second-group choice is IGI. If you see nearly any diamond that is smaller than a carat and "certified" then it is likely one of those imitate-offs. There are many others of course that issue papers (think crummy mall put by) but are not very quality, just like the CKC will register dogs from a photo. A certified diamond will also do with a "map" showing the inclusions in the stone, which if you are anxious in that a bad jeweler has stolen your stone you can compare it to the map and see. It also is easier to dispose of/trade your diamond if it is certified because the quality is easy to know.
A certification will go for a stone a bit more expensive generally, but you can be sure that it is not misrepresented to you (as prolonged as it is from the ones I told you were good). I recommend succeeding to a small family jeweler for the best price and importance on diamonds. When I worked at a family jeweler our profit scope on diamonds was 30%, with a lower markup on the better dignity diamonds to keep them affordable. The mall stores have more than 100% markup-- any department store that does a 50-75% off sale regularly logically is splendid you off.

What does it mean when a diamond is certified? Is it important to get a certified diamond?
Dec 07, 2007 by sam h | Posted in Weddings
I only see a few websites that literally say there diamonds are certified? Does that mean the others are not or is it understood?
A certified diamond is a diamond accompanied by it's very own dispatch done by an independent lab, free of any special interests. These reports are not certifications in the mother wit that they do not guarantee anything but are there for the purpose to give a 3rd party observation using an established set of methods conceded by everybody in the trade to grade the 4 c's (clarity, cut, color, carat) with new information i.e., flourescence, polish, symmetry, etc. Newer reports will also give a circumstantial description of a diamonds cut grades along with detailed numbers and percentages. A diamonds "communiqu" is able to tell you on one page most of the details (including a map (scenario) of your diamond and where all the inclusions lie) in regards to your diamond. There are many labs that provide this service, however within the exchange there are different levels of strictness used when grading. Hence a communication is only as strong as the reputation of the lab. Most people are familiar with GIA (Gemological Institue of America). This lab is known to be one of the most in harmony and strictest with it's grading, it has an established name and reputation in the industry and most consumers show gratitude it. There are other labs that also have strong reputations, which would do you good to research and ask around about (a few have been mentioned in other peoples answers). In regards to getting a certified diamond, I over the importance lies in whether it is practical (budget and desire) for you as a consumer to get one or not. I always hearten my clients to purchase a certified stone, however, in some cases a clients budget and petition for a large stone does not allow then to purchase a certified stone. I say this because it is accepted that diamonds with a good "make" to them are sent into the labs to net reports. A lot of diamonds in the market, especially commercial property diamonds do not come with reports. What I will say next is my own opinion; I believe for many, if the diamond isn't sufficiently nice most jewelers/dealers feel it is not worth it to pay the 100+ (panoramic approximation, fee depends on labs) to get a diamond certified when they can just sell it set already or let for an accepted price in the industry. When I say nice I don't limit myself to the dingy range or high clarity, I have seen many diamonds with certificates in the K colors or diminish with SI2 clarities (some are very beautiful because they have been cut very well). Usually if a stone is more included than an SI2 qualify you will not find those stones with certificates (EGL has an SI3 grade for their reports which GIA will probaby slope as an I1 or so). How does this affect you? What you pay for a diamond depends on what a lab or your jeweler tells you it is. The diminish the color and clarity the less priced a diamond will be. You can do your own research but I believe you will find that the ameliorate diamonds are certified and the ones that are not as nice, or on the borderline are usually not, the only be offended at are the ones that just came fresh and the jeweler/agent has not sent them in yet. This does not mean that you cannot buy a diamond without certification and then send it into one of the labs to get it certified. This is always an selection, however if it is within your budget I will strongly recommend you to purchase one with a certificate because that crosses out the likelihood of you getting a surprise when the report comes back different from what the jeweler told you. Also if you do your delve into correctly you will be able to pick a beautiful round diamond based on what the lab statement says. This only applies to round brilliants. In regards to your enquire on the web about certified stones, you definitely need to write or contact whoever it is you are in view of, if they are not stating that it comes certified. All the best to you in your search!
